The Latent manifesto
Six things Latent will always do, and the things it will never do.
1. Your files are encrypted before anything else happens
Encryption is not a premium option or a setting to find. Every file is encrypted on your iPhone from the moment it enters a vault.
2. You do not need to tell us who you are
No account, no email, no phone number. A vault should not begin by collecting the one thing it exists to protect: information about you.
3. Nothing is measured without your say
No analytics by default, no advertising, no third-party tracking code. What you do in your vault is not data.
4. Leaving is always possible
You can take your files out at any time. A vault that makes leaving difficult has turned your privacy into its retention strategy.
5. Your files are never held hostage
If a subscription ends, reading and exporting keep working. What you stored is never locked behind a payment.
6. We only promise what the app does
Every feature described on this site exists in the app. When something is not possible — recovering a vault without its phrase, for instance — we say so plainly.
