Face blur and photo redactor

Cover what should not be shared — faces, addresses, numbers — before you post a picture.

Solid mask or pixelation

A solid mask replaces an area with black: nothing of the original survives. Pixelation keeps the general shape — fine for a face in a crowd, unsafe for text, which can sometimes be reconstructed from the pixel pattern. The tool uses a solid mask by default.

Suggested areas

Some browsers can detect faces and text on their own. When yours can, the tool suggests areas; always check them, because detection misses faces in profile, in shadow or partly hidden.

Why PNG

The result is saved as PNG, without loss. JPEG compression softens edges and can let the outline of what was hidden show through.

Privacy

Everything happens in your browser, including detection. The image is never uploaded, and the new file contains no metadata.
